Curtis Smith Biography
Curtis Smith isn’t just another barber in the industry, he’s a consultant and a
friend to his clients. He is truly a "cut" above the rest. Smith's polished cuts and
distinctive styles are recognized the world over. Curtis has been the personal
barber/groomer for Sean "Diddy" Combs for over 11 years now. His clientele
list includes but is not limited to: platinum recording artists, Usher, Maxwell, The
Jacksons, Ne-Yo, Lyfe Jennings, Ray J, Trey Songz, Fonzworth Bentley, Carl Thomas,
Nelly, Ice Cube, Bad Boy recording artist B-5, Black Rob, Loon, 112 ,Boyz N The
Hood, Da Band; television and film stars Derek Luke, Malik Yoba, Sean Patrick
Thomas, Michael K Williams, Bill Nunn; music industry executives Steve Stoute, Benny
Medina, Jeff Burrows, Kendu Issacs; star athletes Allen Houston, Larry Johnson,
Charles Oakley, Allen Iverson, Dwayne Wade, Gary Sheffield, and Dwight Howard.
Smith's work can be seen in Sean John ads and the ad campaigns for the fragrances
Unforgivable and Usher as well as 2007 television ad campaign for Burger King, and
recently Ciroc Vodka and"Got Milk". Smith’s talents have also graced the cover of
Usher 99s platinum album, “Confessions” and Diddy's "Press Play". Numerous music
videos for various recording artists and all Bad Boy Entertainment artists. His work
can be seen in movies and TV shows like "A Raisin In The Sun" (Broadway also), "Carlito's Way", "Notorious", "Making The Band Seasons 1-4", "Who Wants To Work For
Diddy", and "106 And Park". His work is also featured in a multitude of magazines
such as GQ, L'uomoVogue and Vogue, Essence, Marie Claire, Vanity Fair, Vibe, JET and
Sophisticated Black Hair. Curtis Smith is one of the most respected men in the
industry. He is also known as a trendsetter, having set a precedent with the famous “9CHawkie” cut (the used and faded variation of the Mohawk used during Diddy’s
campaign for Vote or Die) and various Sean John ads in 2005. Curtis Smith's work can
